Parked in Matalan, as holding blue badge followed directions as advertised and went into store to be registered re free parking by giving details of blue badge number and my car registraion. Matalan lady had to hunt round to find paperwork to register my details but did so and she advised that my information would be passed to Smart Parking and thus I would not received parking fine. All fine so far, mooched around and enjoyed myself. This was on 5th Septemer 2016. Last week received a find from Smart Parking for £50 if paid within 14 days otherwide £85. I contacted matalan sevices and was advised to appeal and send information that I had followed instructions and had registered my car. Today 19th September, I have received information that although I carried out instructions the appeal has failed and I owe the money. Be warned and even if blue badge holder pay to park, matalan underhand methods.
