I brought an "iPhone4S Sim Free" from this store on 1/2/2015 afternoon.
However nothing was told during my purchase.
When I tried to insert my sim card which was Lyca, It gave an error telling sim not recognised.
However last year I had brought a sim free iphone5 from Apple and the same sim worked straight away and worked on any sim I insert.
I looked over internet on this matter, then somewhere I found on carphone warehouse website that iphone 4s brought from their store will be locked to first sim inserted.
No other information other than that.
I checked Apple discussion forums and found people using lyca sim with "sim-free" iphone4s brought from Apple.

Now next day I went to the store, and told about my problem. They said it is your network issue.
When I told that sim free phone brought from Apple works fine, another guy in store said in an over assertive tone "our phones are unlocked".
They made us feel humiliated as if it is our problem.
I politely asked why didn't you tell us yesterday about this, the guy replied "it is your responsibility to ask"
Thier laid-back attitude and untoward body language towards a customer who had issues with their product put us down.
So the "SIM-free" iphones from carphone warehouse is not actually simfree and they get locked to whichever(only few carriers) sim you use first and they are not going to do anything to help you in any issue.
Whether they can fix it or not, they should have right attitude towards costumer and inform people buying sim free iphones instore about not being actually sim free
