If you want to be shouted at and belittled by a car dealer, buy a car here. I bought a 59 plate Ford Fiesta through Stevenage Motor Centre (same company) on the first of August 2015. By the 11th of September it was found to have an oil leak, and after cleaning up and failing to notice the source of the leak it was taken in to the garage in October, as the exhaust heat shield fell out whilst I was driving. I was told they would take a look at the leak, which they did not. In January I had a powertrain failure light on the dash and took the car straight to Pound Avenue Garage after having spoken to SMC and the finance company. The head mechanic took a look, cleared the fault code and told me to go and continue driving the car to see if it would come back. He all but ignored the oil leak which was still present. Fast forward a week and the light has come back, so I go back to the garage. The owner Marco met me there, and I told him that I had been advised by the finance company that I could return the car for a refund, if he could not repair the car. He proceeded to shout at me, cut me off mid sentence and generally abuse me for a half hour argument, and it was only after phoning the finance company he agreed to repair the car. He said out of courtesy it'd be free, which according to the law seeing as the car developed the fault before the dealer warranty ended it should be anyway. £6.99 rocker gasket replaced over the next four days and I got my car back. I had received a phone call on Friday saying the car was out of diesel and it needed more, I had delivered the car to them with 34 miles of range left. The next day the oil leak was back and I had the powertrain light back, they had not looked at this at all. It was quickly joined by the engine fault light. I managed to limp into Pound Avenue with the car smoking and was told that the turbo is showing an under boost message, and that I'd have to pay for a new rocker cover and potentially a new turbo. Marco accused me of having tightened the bolts down myself, and said he had “photographic evidence I’m not putting fuel in the car”. His mechanic had already told me that the car “had been taken for a good run round on Friday Night” I said that he told me on the previous Friday he'd "either repair the car for free or gladly give you your money back", and that I think he should do that. He said "oh don't start that again, or we're going to have another falling out". I reminded him that it was exactly what he said, and that the car had been returned to me in an even worse condition than when I brought it in. He slammed the bonnet down, said "I tell you what, you've got no warrantee with me, you did this to the car yourself, and you can get back in it and f*** off". The investigation into him by the finance company is ongoing.
